Our Music programs offer students the chance to study, compose, and perform music in a vibrant, artistic setting. Within our long-standing Music School that values both classical and contemporary approaches, our dynamic curriculum enables you to examine music through diverse disciplines such as: music history, analytical techniques, live performance, creative composition, theoretical critique, musical styles, and beyond.
The Music (with Foundation Year) BA pathway is a four-year program featuring an initial foundation year that results in the same qualification as our standard three-year honors degree. This option is tailored for aspiring students who may need additional preparation or lack conventional academic credentials.
The Foundation Year (Year 0) helps you develop and enhance your confidence, abilities, and knowledge base – guaranteeing you're fully equipped to advance to Year 1 of the bachelor's degree.

Although numerous alumni establish careers in music, these degrees also provide excellent foundations for various roles in business, administration, management, and other fields. Our graduates have succeeded as professional musicians, songwriters, academic instructors, researchers, educators, arts coordinators, therapeutic music specialists, publishing professionals, archivists, event organizers, community arts leaders, production managers, audio producers, and broadcast technicians. Many students continue their musical education after graduation, pursuing advanced training as performers, academics, or composers, with abundant opportunities available at Bangor.
