About This CourseThis BA Geography program provides a comprehensive introduction to social, physical, and environmental geography. You'll explore critical global issues including Climate-Induced Migration, Food Insecurity, Geopolitical Dynamics, and Governance Systems.Our curriculum spans diverse topics from economic globalization and neoliberal policies to sustainable development and agricultural geography. You'll gain proficiency in research methodologies, information technology, geographic information systems (GIS), and statistical analysis while developing sought-after professional competencies.In your final year, you'll undertake independent research with faculty mentorship, demonstrating the expertise cultivated during your studies. Fieldwork forms a core component, with numerous opportunities for hands-on learning in North Wales and residential excursions across the UK and Europe. The program offers international study options and a placement year (work or study) through our sandwich degree structure.Recognized by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), this accredited degree delivers robust geographical training that equips graduates to tackle real-world challenges beyond academia.

Qualification Requirements

GCSE: Grade C/4 in Mathematics and English Language or Welsh, if not demonstrated by the Level 3 qualification/s. Offers are tariff based, 96 - 128 tariff points from a Level 3 qualification* e.g.: A Levels: Including a C grade or above in Geography. General Studies and Key Skills not normally accepted. International Baccalaureate Diploma (including grade H5 or above in Geography at the Higher Level) Access: Science or Environmental/Land-based or Humanities course (merit grade required in the Geography element) BTEC National Extended Diploma in Countryside Management or Applied Science**: MMM - DDM Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma in Applied Science or Laboratory Skills**: MMM - DDM City & Guilds Advanced Technical Extended Diploma (1080): MMM-DDM in a relevant subject (e.g. Countryside Management, Countryside and Environment, Forestry & Arboriculture)** Welsh Baccalaureate is accepted. T-levels: considered on a case-by-case basis Extended Project Qualification: Points can include a relevant Extended Project (EPQ) but must include a minimum 2 full A-levels, or equivalent. We are happy to accept combinations of the qualifications listed above, as well as alternative Level 3 qualifications such as City & Guilds, Access and Cambridge Technical Diplomas. We also welcome applications from mature learners.
