Our doctoral programs offer the opportunity to participate in existing research initiatives or pursue your own academic interests in English Language and Intercultural Communication, guided by our expert faculty. Each student receives two dedicated supervisors, with access to additional advisors when needed. Our supervisory team possesses extensive knowledge across various aspects of English language studies and intercultural communication, with particular emphasis on modern European/migrant film and literature, second-language learning, urban multilingual environments, and sociolinguistic principles. You'll work within a cooperative research atmosphere, maintaining connections with multiple university centers and the broader academic community. We organize and participate in numerous research-focused activities for faculty and graduate students, including regular departmental seminars and global conferences. These seminars provide a supportive platform for presenting your research.
Financial assistance may be available - we dedicate significant annual funding to support postgraduate conference attendance and travel, along with select scholarship opportunities. Your specialized studies will be complemented by university-wide training programs, helping you develop crucial research skills in areas such as research ethics, academic presentations, intellectual property rights, and digital research methodologies.
