Collaborate with top-tier researchers in Cambridge. Gain practical experience using our specialized facilities and develop the expertise needed for a PhD or research career in cognitive neuroscience or similar fields. Our psychology research was rated as world-class in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) by the UK Government.

This program provides both theoretical foundations and hands-on research techniques used in cognitive and clinical neuroscience. Through lectures, seminars, and workshops, you'll study neuroanatomy and learn to interpret MRI and EEG data. The curriculum emphasizes practical skills like conducting neuropsychological evaluations, processing statistical data, and analyzing MRI scans.

For your thesis project, you'll explore a topic of personal interest with guidance from our faculty—esteemed researchers and active members of Cambridge's prestigious academic community.

Note: This program doesn't involve clinical practice with patients, children, or mental health service users. While not a professional qualification, it can strengthen applications for Clinical Psychology Doctorates. We recommend gaining relevant work or volunteer experience during your studies—our program structure supports this pursuit.
