Our doctoral programs in English Language and Linguistics offer you the opportunity to participate in existing research initiatives or pursue your own academic interests under the guidance of our expert faculty. Each student receives two dedicated supervisors, with access to additional academic support when needed. Our supervisory team covers diverse linguistic specialties such as multilingual studies, second language learning, syntactic theory, Romance languages, minority language communities, identity formation through language, and data-driven linguistic analysis.
You'll work within an interdisciplinary research culture that maintains active partnerships with university centers and local organizations. We regularly organize and participate in academic events including departmental colloquia, faculty research presentations, and global conferences, providing supportive platforms for you to share your work.
As active members of the Anglia Ruskin-Cambridge University (ARC) Romance Linguistics Seminar series, we facilitate access to numerous lectures where you can both learn and present. These gatherings, combined with our digital research community, create valuable networking opportunities with fellow graduate researchers across multiple fields.
