Transform lives through comprehensive professional education. Our program blends rigorous academic instruction with hands-on fieldwork, preparing you to qualify as a licensed Social Worker upon graduation. This intensive MA in Social Work is tailored for degree holders with six months of relevant experience seeking professional certification.
Available at our Cambridge, Chelmsford, or Peterborough campuses, this two-year program meets Social Work England's standards, enabling graduates to pursue professional registration immediately after completion.
During your first year, expect three weekly lecture days supplemented by independent study and fieldwork. The second year shifts focus to one campus day weekly, with 3-4 days devoted to placements. Our intensive orientation program launches your postgraduate journey, equipping you with essential social work theories and practical skills for your initial placement.
The curriculum includes 70 placement days in Year 1 and 100 in Year 2 across diverse settings. You'll gain experience in both statutory work and specialized services, with one placement focusing on children's services and another on adult care.
