Join us in Cambridge to explore animal behavior and its effects on health, welfare, and management across companion, domestic, captive, and wild species. Experience the UK's longest-running animal behavior program, recognized by the Royal Society of Biology. Utilize advanced technologies to examine behavioral patterns and their applications in conservation and welfare solutions. Participate in our unique Live Briefs, collaborating with zoos, farms, and wildlife organizations to tackle real-world issues, with opportunities for both local and international fieldwork. Cambridge, a center for wildlife and conservation research, hosts our state-of-the-art 45m Science Centre. Work alongside research-focused faculty from the School of Life Sciences on projects and internships, while gaining practical experience through employer partnerships.

While our understanding of animal behavior has grown significantly, countless discoveries remain. You could contribute to groundbreaking research while building investigative skills for future scientific contributions. At ARU, you'll learn from faculty engaged in global field and captive studies, with connections to leading UK zoos and institutions. Past students have completed capstone projects, placements, and internships with organizations like Natural England, Shepreth Wildlife Park, Woburn Safari Park, Wildwood Trust, and the Cambridge Museum of Zoology. We also partner with BCN Wildlife Trust for Live Brief initiatives.
