Cultivate a comprehensive learning method by blending hands-on lab work, theoretical knowledge, on-site construction involvement, and awareness of your projects' environmental effects. Participate in Life Briefs that provide real-world exposure, transcend conventional teaching techniques, and connect academic concepts with practical implementation. Developed in collaboration with top regional firms, this program ensures students acquire essential employment-ready competencies. As a BEng program, it emphasizes engineering design, analysis, and consultancy while qualifying you for IEng (Incorporated Engineer) certification. Facing global issues like climate change and resource limitations, engineers play a crucial role in creating, planning, and safeguarding our infrastructure. The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering program at ARU concentrates on infrastructure design and assessment, with students tackling actual construction projects from their first day. This project-driven curriculum provides practical experience, training you to approach problems like a professional engineer.
This hands-on program teaches site investigations, land surveys, material selection, infrastructure analysis and design, and construction planning, with significant emphasis on sustainable practices and environmental considerations. You'll gain proficiency in computer-aided design and industry-specific software while learning from specialists in dedicated facilities featuring geotechnical, hydraulic, and concrete testing laboratories. Beyond classroom learning, opportunities include guest lectures and an optional industry placement year, plus three intensive construction projects. Our engineering programs meet the latest Engineering Council standards (AHEP 4.0), with JBM accreditation for the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering degree pending evaluation of graduate outcomes.
