Cultivate a comprehensive learning method by combining hands-on lab work, theoretical knowledge, practical construction site involvement, and awareness of your projects' ecological effects. Participate in Life Briefs that provide real-world experience, transcend conventional teaching techniques, and connect academic concepts with practical implementation. Developed in collaboration with top local industries, this program ensures students acquire essential job-ready competencies. As a Bachelor of Engineering program, it emphasizes engineering design, analysis, and consultancy while qualifying you for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) certification. Facing global issues like climate crisis and limited resources, engineers play a crucial role in creating, planning, and safeguarding our infrastructure. The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering program at ARU concentrates on infrastructure design and assessment, immersing students in actual construction projects from the very beginning. This project-driven curriculum provides practical training, developing engineering mindsets and work approaches.
This hands-on program teaches site assessments, topographic surveys, material selection, infrastructure analysis and design, and construction planning. Sustainability and environmental considerations are central themes throughout. Students will master computer-aided design and industry-specific software applications. Instruction occurs in specialized facilities with expert tutors, featuring geotechnical, hydraulic, and concrete testing laboratories. Beyond labs, opportunities include guest lectures and optional industrial placements. The curriculum incorporates three intensive construction projects. All engineering programs comply with the updated Engineering Council standards (AHEP 4.0). JBM accreditation for this civil engineering degree will be pursued once sufficient graduate data becomes available.
