You'll master crafting compelling stories across various formats, from poetry and drama to short fiction, films, and documentaries. The course covers professional writing techniques for film, including screenwriting and film journalism.

Receive constructive feedback on your creative work from published authors, faculty members, Royal Literary Fund fellows, and peers. This collaborative environment helps refine your work while strengthening your analytical abilities.

Examine global filmmaking approaches and develop your visual storytelling skills by creating short films in video, animation, or 16mm formats. Professional filmmakers will guide you through camera work, sound recording, and editing. Customize your studies with optional modules or specialize for specific careers. During Years 2 and 3, you can study a language through our Anglia Language Programme or participate in international study opportunities to broaden your cultural perspective, with potential funding available.

Benefit from our industry connections to secure valuable work placements. Past students have interned with prominent organizations including the BBC, Cambridge Festival of Ideas, Cannes Film Festival, Pinewood Studios, and major media outlets. You'll also engage in real-world projects with partner organizations, such as our recent collaboration with mental health charity Lifecraft to produce promotional videos for their digital platforms.
