Pursuing a BA (Hons) Philosophy degree at ARU will immerse you in both historical philosophical traditions and current discussions in fields like AI Philosophy, Ethics, and Philosophy of Art. Our dedicated philosophy faculty provides individual mentoring and tailored guidance to support your academic journey. According to the 2023 National Student Survey, our Philosophy programs achieved outstanding ratings: 93% for Student Voice, 92% for Course Teaching, 92% for Learning Opportunities, 90% for Assessment and Feedback, and 90% for Academic Support.

You'll enhance your analytical, reasoning, and decision-making abilities by examining influential philosophical concepts, formulating original perspectives through structured, innovative thinking, and applying philosophical approaches to real-world situations.

These competencies are highly valued, with the World Economic Forum identifying complex problem-solving and critical analysis as essential skills for professional success in the modern workforce.

Opportunities abound to participate in intellectual exchanges through the student-run Philosophy Society and attend prestigious events like our Royal Institute of Philosophy lecture series. You can expand your career prospects by acquiring language skills through our Anglia Language Programme, spending a semester abroad, or collaborating with partner organizations on practical projects. Recent student initiatives include developing materials with mental health advocacy group Lifecraft to combat stigma and raise awareness, and creating promotional content for CamYOGA to highlight yoga's wellness benefits.
