Establish the groundwork for your career as a commercial music producer or audio engineer through our Music and Sound Production degree program. We'll provide you with cutting-edge techniques and hands-on experience using various audio production tools. Our BA (Hons) Music and Sound Production program grants access to professional-grade recording, mixing, editing, and production equipment, offering practical experience essential for working as a professional producer or sound engineer.
While deepening your knowledge of digital audio theory, MIDI, and sound synthesis, you'll progress from basic DAW mixers and plugins to advanced external processors, including DSP-based plugins and analog outboard gear. Studying at ARU Cambridge means sharing modules with other music programs, fostering collaboration and developing crucial professional skills like teamwork and time management. You'll also have chances to partner with film and game design students, crafting soundtracks for their projects.
Tailor your studies with optional modules aligned with your career goals. Qualification Requirements
5 GCSEs at grade D, or grade 3, or above and evidence of two years post-GCSE study at Level 3.
If you have achieved at least grade E in one A level, or equivalent, you are exempt from the two years post-GCSE study requirement, but you still must meet the GCSE requirements.
Applicants who do not meet the two years post GCSE study at level 3 may be considered based on their satisfactory employment history, which must be a minimum of two years full time employment supported by employer evidence and deemed appropriate by the University for meeting the course of study applied for.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
