Refine your illustration abilities and discover how to thrive as a working artist while studying in Cambridge's vibrant creative hub. Our students deserve top-tier instruction, which is why all our tutors are practicing illustrators. They'll guide you in developing your unique visual voice and launching your career, while never losing sight of what drew you to illustration studies initially. At Cambridge School of Art, you'll enjoy ample opportunities to explore, innovate, collaborate, and produce original work.

Our exceptional studio facilities will become your creative home, where you'll dedicate significant time developing your craft. Beyond honing fundamental drawing and observational techniques, you'll investigate diverse disciplines including narrative arts, editorial illustration, animation, print media, typographic design, and motion graphics. We understand career preparation matters, which is why we push you to gain practical experience through competitions, professional projects, and internships.

The illustration field offers boundless opportunities - from book illustration and graphic design to set decoration, packaging design, and animated features. A standout experience for our students is the yearly Lisbon drawing excursion, where second and third-year participants immerse themselves in Portugal's rich visual culture through intensive sketching sessions.
