Pursuing a BA (Hons) in Criminology and Policing at ARU means receiving career-focused support from your very first day.
Our connections with regional law enforcement and industry experts provide numerous ways to interact with criminal justice professionals, including guest lectures (some arranged by our Policing Institute for the Eastern Region), workshops, field visits, and research initiatives.
There may be chances to collaborate directly with nearby police departments. For instance, a student-led initiative backed by Cambridge Constabulary recently investigated officer demographics and hiring practices.
Instruction comes from seasoned professionals - certain modules feature teaching by active and former policing specialists like Crime Scene Investigators. Our criminology faculty includes researchers who've assisted in actual police investigations. An optional placement year is available too.
We'll encourage your participation in justice-related advocacy, nonprofit work, and community service to build practical experience within the legal system. You'll also enhance your resume by developing strong analytical, research, and communication abilities.
