The academic discipline of game studies examines digital games through a humanities lens, employing critical analysis, historical inquiry, and social research methods. Potential research could investigate themes like storytelling, moral frameworks, player communities, and symbolic systems, while drawing on theoretical perspectives including literary criticism, philosophical inquiry, postcolonial theory, political economy, or psychological approaches.
