Enhance your creative skills and imagination while preparing for a professional artistic career or advanced postgraduate studies. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) is a distinct postgraduate qualification that builds upon the Level 7 Bachelor of Fine Arts programme.
This Honours degree serves as a continuation, allowing Whitecliffe students to refine their undergraduate learning through intensive practice-based research, equipping them for careers in creative fields. Many pursue this qualification to establish a foundation for advanced research, potentially leading to a Master of Fine Arts (or similar degree) or, when requirements are satisfied, direct entry into a Doctoral programme. The programme consists of two concurrent study areas across two semesters: Studio Research and Critical Contexts. These courses blend theoretical knowledge with practical studio work, focusing on students' specialized research projects. The BFA(Hons) concludes with a final exhibition or presentation of studio research findings, accompanied by a written research summary.
