This program aims to broaden and enhance professional expertise in health and social practice disciplines such as occupational therapy, nursing, midwifery, social work, counseling, and human services. It provides educational experiences that enrich students' practical knowledge while fostering Treaty-based practice understanding. Participants will advance their professional capabilities through engaging, hands-on learning methods. The curriculum builds upon prior qualifications to deliver advanced, cross-disciplinary professional growth suitable for diverse practice settings. The collaboration between health and social service professionals will improve regional service quality. Through this interdisciplinary approach, graduates will strengthen their critical thinking and clinical reasoning abilities for specialized practice, leadership roles, and management in challenging professional environments. Students have a maximum of two years to finish the Postgraduate Certificate.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Health and Social Practice supports accessible higher education by offering flexible learning options tailored for regional professionals. Depending on course selection, diploma graduates may qualify for Wintec's 180-point Master of Professional Practice or master's programs at other New Zealand universities and ITPs.
