Earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) requires conducting novel, long-term research under the guidance of an academic advisor. This advanced degree allows you to pioneer discoveries, tackle significant modern challenges, push your limits, and cultivate both specialized and adaptable abilities. Our TESOL graduate programs equip both aspiring and current second/foreign language educators with comprehensive knowledge and practical techniques to enhance their instructional capabilities. These courses examine various current topics in language pedagogy. Participating educators are prompted to analyze difficulties within their classroom environments and conduct modest investigative studies. Instruction is provided by globally-renowned scholars who leverage their vast background as language instructors and teacher trainers to connect academic theory with real-world teaching applications. The Master of Arts in TESOL offers flexible completion options through coursework, a thesis, or a blended approach.

Qualification Requirements
Research degree such as Honours or Master's by thesis from a New Zealand university with an average grade of B+ or higher, an approved international equivalent, or other approved evidence of adequate training and ability.
If you have a four-year Bachelor's degree graded in a four-point GPA system, you will need to have a GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0.
If you have a Bachelor's degree graded in the British system (including from India), you must have been awarded the degree with first or upper second-class Honours.
Either a Bachelor's degree with Honours or a Master's degree from a New Zealand university, with an overall GPA of no less than 6 (letter grade B+),
Or to be currently enrolled in a Master's thesis at the Victoria University of Wellington and meet the requirements for conversion to a PhD,
