Consider psychology if you're compassionate about others and dedicated to improving mental health results. By pursuing Psychology studies in Wellington, you'll acquire the expertise to contribute to meaningful, life-changing improvements for Kiwis nationwide.
Our Psychology degree consists of a core Psychological Science major along with eight elective complementary majors spanning various psychology disciplines. For those aiming for postgraduate studies to qualify as registered psychologists, these optional majors provide direct routes to help you reach your aspirations.
Health Psychology focuses on helping individuals maintain wellness, manage illnesses, and recover from health conditions. It examines how our mental processes, emotions, and actions impact both physical and psychological health, and vice versa. Health psychologists collaborate with medical teams to enhance healthcare services, making them more available and cost-effective for all.
This major could be ideal if you're pursuing a healthcare career. Possible career paths include health promotion specialist, research analyst, wellbeing consultant, therapist, or youth support worker. Those aspiring to become licensed health psychologists can progress to postgraduate studies to obtain professional registration.
