The Bachelor of Design Innovation (BDI) is a three-year undergraduate program that equips students for careers in the growing field of design.
At Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, Design focuses on innovation. While gaining industry-relevant skills, students explore new frontiers in design practice. Through studio sessions and seminars, instructors guide students in adopting experimental design methods that foster creative problem-solving.
Break away from conventional fashion design by integrating new technologies and materials. Students master figure illustration, pattern creation, and garment construction techniques. Work with 3D printing, advanced materials, and smart textiles to develop solutions that address real-world needs and enhance quality of life.
Achieve the International Baccalaureate Diploma, or three GCE Advanced Level passes at C grade, or equivalent.
Proof of English proficiency
To be accepted into this programme you will need one of the following:
IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5
TOEFL: minimum overall score of 80 (internet-based test)
Pearson Test of English: minimum score of 50 (with a 'Communicative score' of not less than 42)
EPP: minimum final scores of 4,4,4,3
