The Master of Health, Sport and Human Performance provides a research-focused education, equipping you to analyze how political, cultural, social, and economic elements shape the understanding and practice of sports, exercise, and leisure activities. During the MHSHP program, you'll investigate how sociological viewpoints, along with psychological and physiological components, impact athletic movement and performance. Your studies will include hands-on research opportunities to positively impact communities while networking with top-tier athletes and sports organizations.

These connections create valuable research collaborations with elite teams like the Waikato Chiefs, BoP Magic, and Cycling NZ, as well as community groups including Parafed Waikato, Sport Waikato, Paralympics New Zealand, and Special Olympics New Zealand.
This flexible degree allows customization to suit your goals, with expert faculty available to guide diverse research projects. You can complete the program in one year of full-time study or balance part-time studies with professional commitments.
