Students can pursue this degree through the Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies, School of Arts, or the School of Social Sciences.
Psychology explores human and animal behavior and mental processes within their physical, social, and organizational contexts. As a behavioral science, it investigates how actions are acquired and modified. From a social science perspective, it examines individuals within family systems, organizations, communities, and cultural settings. As a biological science, it analyzes sensory functions and the relationship between neurological/physiological systems and behavior. The cognitive science aspect focuses on mental processes including perception, attention, memory, reasoning, and language.
