Shoppers today have growing expectations about their food choices: seeking options that are low-carb, vitamin-fortified, fat-free, organic, eco-friendly, isotonic, climate-neutral, enhanced, genetically-altered, nutritious... not to mention taste, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Understanding diverse global market preferences, along with production and distribution logistics while maintaining quality, presents significant hurdles for food manufacturers. This is where food and agricultural experts play a crucial role. They work to transform concepts into viable products. Students in Food and Agriculture programs study the technical, economic, social, and psychological aspects affecting food selection, manufacturing processes, the nuanced craft of marketing, packaging information, and compliance standards.
