The Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health (DPH) is a versatile qualification highly valued by diverse employers. This practical program equips graduates to recognize and address public health challenges, while offering specialized skills through elective courses. Depending on their chosen electives, students can develop expertise in health data analysis, health promotion strategy design, public health intervention planning and evaluation, interdisciplinary collaboration, healthcare resource management, and ethical practice standards. The curriculum comprises four mandatory courses plus four electives from a comprehensive selection, allowing for broad public health coverage. While most students pursue a general DPH, three specialized tracks are available in epidemiology, health promotion, or social research methods. Aspiring Master of Public Health (MPH) candidates must include a research methodology course among their electives, in addition to the required PUBH 711 Principles of Epidemiology core course. The DPH serves effectively as either a terminal qualification or as a pathway to the MPH program, with admission to the latter requiring a minimum B average (73%) in the diploma.
