The Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology (PGDipCDTech) is a full-time, one-year program combining academic instruction and hands-on clinical training at Dunedin's Faculty of Dentistry. This curriculum, featuring three core subjects (DTEC 401 Complete Denture Prosthodontics, DTEC 402 Partial Denture Prosthodontics, and DTEC 403 Dental Health), provides specialized training for dental technicians seeking clinical expertise, equipping graduates to perform dental procedures competently and restore dentition with complete or removable prosthetics. Students may alternatively pursue this qualification through a part-time, two-year study plan. The part-time option mandates at least two weekly days of on-campus participation at Dunedin's Faculty of Dentistry, along with compulsory attendance during an introductory orientation week and final examinations at the University of Otago (Dunedin).
