The Master of Commerce (MCom) program fosters independent research capabilities. Beginning with a solid foundation of coursework, participants can either build upon established research domains or pioneer new areas of investigation. The MCom offers two pathways: a combination of coursework and thesis, or a thesis-only option. Candidates holding a strong Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) typically complete the program through papers and thesis over at least two years of full-time study. The initial year involves completing 120 points worth of papers, culminating in a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (PGDipCom). Those with an Honours degree or PGDipCom (or equivalent) may opt for the thesis-only route, which requires a minimum of one year.
Marketing plays a pivotal role in shaping numerous aspects of daily life – from purchasing decisions and entertainment choices to dietary preferences, political affiliations, and educational selections. Successful products, brands, and services require thorough research, development, strategic packaging, and effective promotion. While these functions represent core marketing activities, we view marketing as also having the power to drive beneficial transformations for both individuals and society. Students from various academic backgrounds pursue marketing studies, and graduates can apply their knowledge across multiple sectors. At its core, marketing focuses on human connections, generating value, fostering positive change, and providing dynamic, stimulating career opportunities with meaningful rewards.
