The Master of Commerce (MCom) program fosters independent research capabilities. Building upon a solid foundation of coursework, students can either enhance current research domains or pioneer new areas of study. The MCom offers two pathways: a combination of coursework and thesis, or a thesis-only option. Candidates with a strong Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) typically complete the program through papers and thesis over at least two years of full-time study. The initial year involves 120 points worth of coursework, culminating in a Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce (PGDipCom). Those holding an Honours degree or PGDipCom (or equivalent) may opt for the thesis-only route, which requires a minimum of one year to complete.
