The Master of Applied Science (MAppSc) is a 180-credit postgraduate program focused on coursework. While typically pursued by graduates, it also welcomes applicants with relevant professional qualifications. This interdisciplinary degree equips students with adaptable scientific skills for diverse applications, offering specialized tracks in commercialization, workplace projects, or independent research.
Amid growing concerns about climate change, deforestation, soil degradation, and biodiversity loss, environmental challenges appear increasingly daunting. However, a growing community of professionals is rising to meet these challenges. Environmental Management focuses on organizing these responses – analyzing issues, creating solutions, and collaborating across disciplines to implement effective measures.

The University of Otago's Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Environmental Management provides comprehensive training in environmental systems science. The program examines the broader socioeconomic and policy frameworks, including compliance with environmental regulations. Students develop the expertise to design innovative solutions for pressing ecological issues.
