In a society influenced by faith and fragmented by religious tensions, scholarly and scientific analysis of religion has become increasingly crucial. Through Otago's Religion program, you'll analyze religious doctrines and traditions along with their impact on human actions. The curriculum explores religion's evolutionary roots, psychological foundations, and historical progression, as well as its connections to contemporary governance, legal systems, and societal changes. Moving beyond conventional faiths, you'll study emerging spiritual movements that have developed alongside established religions. The program approaches these subjects with both analytical rigor and compassion, presenting perspectives that may challenge believers while striving to comprehend their worldview.
