Communication Studies examines the societal, technological, political, and cultural impacts of modern and evolving communication methods and systems. With a focus on social and digital media communication, our curriculum fosters critical and creative thinking about various media platforms including digital, broadcast, print, and mobile communications, while enhancing both written and digital media skills. These competencies are essential for understanding media's role within broader societal and cultural contexts. Engage your intellect and expand your perspectives in a dynamic academic setting that encourages critical analysis, creativity, and innovation.
Our programs will stimulate your thinking, widen your outlook, and enhance your understanding of societal and cultural shifts. We aim to cultivate graduates who become thoughtful, active participants in society - individuals who think critically, act creatively, and adapt innovatively to our rapidly changing media landscape while making meaningful contributions to their communities and careers. Our teaching and research approach is multidisciplinary, forward-thinking, and applied.
Our alumni pursue diverse careers in media production, journalism, education, marketing, management, archival work, policy analysis, public relations, tourism, and some continue to advanced studies through our Honours, Masters, and PhD programs. A degree from our department opens doors to numerous professional opportunities, including emerging career paths that may not yet be defined.
