Classical Performance pathways include piano, strings, woodwind, brass, and classical voice, while Contemporary (pop/rock) Performance covers guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals. Additionally, a World Music Performance pathway featuring Highland piping/drumming, Taonga Puoro, Gamelan, and Taiko ensembles is available across all degree programs. The performance curriculum provides an encouraging and creative atmosphere that nurtures technical skills and musical understanding. Numerous performance graduates have attained remarkable success nationally and internationally, building upon the strong foundation of their Otago education. Students enjoy frequent performance opportunities through the University's public music events and community engagements. Performance serves as a specialization option within the Bachelor of Music (MusB) degree.
