Ecology examines the relationships between plants, animals, and other organisms and their surroundings. This field explores species, populations, and ecosystems across diverse environments, from mountain peaks to ocean depths, and from dry grasslands to lush rainforests. As an interdisciplinary science, ecology connects various academic disciplines at the University, including Botany, Geography, Geology, Information Science, Marine Science, Mathematics, Philosophy, Statistics, Surveying, and Zoology. Otago's Ecology Degree Programme offers flexible pathways to explore specialized interests such as ecophysiology of plants and animals, aquatic and marine ecosystems, evolutionary biology, fossil ecosystems, species interactions, and ecological data systems.

International Baccalaureate: IB Diploma with a minimum of 24 points.
GCE Advanced Levels: minimum grade of 8.
Satisfactory completion of one year's study at an approved tertiary institution.
You must provide scanned copies of your previous official academic transcripts (awards gained, marks, grades) with your application.
IELTS - Overall score of 6.0, no individual band below 5.5.
TOEFL iBT - Overall score of 80 and a writing score of 20.
