The postgraduate Child and Family Psychology program stands out as New Zealand's only offering of its kind, delivered by a combination of academic and clinical experts from UC's School of Health Sciences alongside other qualified instructors.

We developed our Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Family Psychology to address the growing need for certified psychologists specializing in youth, adolescent, and family care.

Our curriculum strongly emphasizes evaluating both strengths and resilience alongside challenges, always considering the child's environmental context. The program concentrates on young people's psychological health and emotional wellness alongside their educational development. We intentionally incorporate Aotearoa's social and political landscape with proper bicultural representation. Additionally, we cover topics like caregiving, adult psychological health, and interpersonal dynamics, acknowledging that young people exist within broader family and community networks.
