Japanese language programs are available for all skill levels, from introductory to advanced postgraduate studies. Qualified first-year students with higher language proficiency may directly enroll in upper-level courses. Those who have achieved Level 3 NCEA with at least 15 credits in Japanese can register for JAPA215. Students uncertain about their placement can take an assessment test. Both undergraduate and postgraduate students can enhance their language studies with various non-language course options.
The Bachelor of Arts with Honours program is designed for exceptional BA graduates (or equivalent degree holders) who wish to specialize in humanities or social sciences. Students typically follow a customized curriculum that combines research projects with elective coursework.
