It serves as a stepping stone to advanced studies at the master's level. The Department of Mechanical Engineering boasts a distinguished legacy of research excellence. By pursuing postgraduate studies here, you'll work on projects with practical significance, grounded in theoretical frameworks designed for future relevance. Key focus areas include: Acoustics: Students gain access to a state-of-the-art laboratory that fosters cross-disciplinary collaboration, featuring three reverberation chambers, an anechoic room, and a dedicated listening space. Research covers architectural acoustics, aeroacoustics, vibration acoustics, sound field synthesis, and related fields. Advanced composite materials: In partnership with the globally recognized Centre for Advanced Composite Materials, we explore the design, production, analysis, and simulation of composite materials for diverse practical applications.

You must have completed an Engineering degree or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as Architecture, Geology, or Physics. Your study must have been at a recognised university (or similar institution), and you will need a GPE of 3.0.
IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 and no bands less than 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
