Our LLM program offers sophisticated and adaptable legal education tailored for students pursuing studies either full-time or part-time. Maintain your career progress while learning, or immerse yourself fully to advance more rapidly. With year-round enrollment opportunities, the LLM gives you the freedom to fast-track your professional growth. Students can also explore interdisciplinary options by selecting one or two master's courses (up to 30 credits) from other University of Auckland faculties. The program includes legal research methodology training for those needing to strengthen these skills. Choose from more than 30 specialized courses to focus on specific legal fields or explore diverse subjects. The LLM can be completed through coursework, research, or a blend of both, enabling deeper examination of legal topics beyond undergraduate levels. Courses feature both intensive legal analyses and policy-focused approaches, each incorporating substantial research elements—typically culminating in a 12,500-word essay for 30-credit courses.
