Our LLM program offers sophisticated and adaptable legal education tailored for both full-time and part-time learners. You can balance studies with professional commitments to maintain progress or immerse yourself fully to advance more rapidly. The program features year-round enrollment, giving you the freedom to fast-track your career development. Students may also incorporate interdisciplinary learning by selecting one or two master's courses (maximum 30 credits) from other University of Auckland faculties. For those needing enhancement, the program includes comprehensive legal research methodology training. Choose from more than 30 specialized courses to focus on specific legal fields or explore diverse legal topics. The LLM can be completed through coursework, research projects, or a blend of both approaches. This curriculum enables deeper, more complex examination of legal subjects compared to undergraduate studies, featuring both detailed legal analyses and policy-focused courses. Every course incorporates substantial research elements, typically culminating in a 12,500-word research paper for 30-credit courses.
