Our LLM program offers sophisticated and adaptable legal education for students pursuing studies either full-time or part-time. You can maintain your career momentum by studying while employed, or immerse yourself completely to advance more rapidly. The LLM features year-round enrollment, giving you the freedom to propel your professional growth at your own pace. Students also have the option to incorporate interdisciplinary learning by selecting one or two master's courses (maximum 30 credits) from other University of Auckland faculties. For those needing to strengthen their research capabilities, the program includes comprehensive legal research methodology training. Choose from more than 30 specialized courses to focus on specific legal fields or explore diverse legal topics. The LLM can be completed through coursework, research projects, or a blend of both approaches. This advanced program enables deeper exploration of legal subjects beyond undergraduate levels, featuring both intensive legal analysis courses and policy-focused offerings. Every course incorporates substantial research elements, typically culminating in a 12,500-word research paper for 30-credit classes.
