For those seeking a career in healthcare services, systems, clinical practice, or research, the Master of Health Sciences program offers excellent preparation. This MHSc degree prepares graduates for leadership positions in healthcare delivery, systems, or research. Students can conduct their research either through the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences or at the University's Liggins Institute. The program offers both Taught (120 and 240-point) and Research Masters (120 and 240-point) options. Candidates with an undergraduate degree typically enroll in the 240-point program, while those with prior postgraduate qualifications may qualify for the 120-point option. The MHSc develops specialized skills that create pathways to specific healthcare careers. While many graduates remain in their current health professions, the degree equips them for leadership advancement. Please note that the University of Auckland does not participate in graduate employment and cannot guarantee professional registration or job placement in New Zealand or elsewhere.
