Qualification Requirements

120 points: You must have at least three years of practical experience in teaching or a related profession, including experience in a formal or informal leadership and/or management role.

Note: If you already hold a masters degree in educational administration, educational management, or substantially similar qualification, you may not be admitted to this programme.

180 points: You can also gain entry if you hold a bachelors degree in a relevant subject (including education, psychology, social work, social sciences and sociology), or a relevant professional qualification in education from another tertiary institution and have completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (must not be awarded) from the University of Auckland with the required grades.

In addition, you must have at least three years of practical experience in teaching or a related profession, including experience in a formal or informal leadership and/or management role.

Grade required: GPE 5.0

IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 and no bands less than 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
