The MA provides diverse options to suit your needs. You can select between research-based or taught programs, with durations of one year or 18 months based on your qualifications, across over 40 academic disciplines. Your prior education might allow you to explore a field different from your previous focus. The research master's program lets you make meaningful contributions to your chosen discipline through an extensive research project guided by New Zealand's top academics. For taught programs, you'll engage in intimate classroom settings with direct faculty access while undertaking a more modest research component. Earning an MA enhances your expertise and develops versatile skills to an advanced degree. Alumni have applied their refined abilities in strategic analysis, critical reasoning, effective communication, and cultural sensitivity across various sectors including public service, global development initiatives, cultural institutions, and research organizations.
To qualify, you'll need a BA with a Drama specialization, maintaining a 5.0 GPA across 75 Stage II credits with minimum 45 credits in your major. Related disciplines like Creative Writing, English, Theatre, or Writing Studies may also meet admission requirements.
