The MA program provides diverse options to suit your needs. You can select between research-based or taught degrees, with durations of one year or 18 months based on your prior qualifications, across over 40 academic disciplines. Your previous studies may allow you to explore a field different from your original specialization. The research master's program lets you make meaningful contributions to your chosen discipline through an extensive research project guided by New Zealand's top academics. Alternatively, the taught master's offers intensive learning in intimate classroom settings with direct faculty engagement, culminating in a more focused research component. You'll have opportunities to pursue specialized coursework and independent research in various fields including: Chinese language studies, Linguistics, Translation theory, Teaching Chinese as a second language, as well as Literature, cinema, and contemporary culture studies.
