The Master of Architecture (Professional) and Urban Design program provides a solid foundation for modern architectural practice. Completing this combined degree takes less time than pursuing both qualifications separately, equipping you with the credentials needed for professional architecture while exploring the environmental, societal, and economic aspects of well-designed urban environments. This professionally accredited MArch(Prof)UrbDes program is endorsed by the New Zealand Registered Architects Board (NZRAB), Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA), and the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA). Through interactive seminars and studio work, you'll enhance your design capabilities and theoretical knowledge while addressing pressing urban challenges like eco-friendly design, community infrastructure, and city growth. The program allows you to pursue specialized interests and complete a design thesis based on independent research.
You must have completed an undergraduate degree in architecture or design with a GPE of 4.0.
Other pathways to study: The University’s Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) degree programme is a suitable pathway into this combined masters programme.
