Enhance the foundation from your undergraduate music studies with a dedicated year of advanced training in your chosen field. As a performer, composer, musicologist, or studio instructor, your honors year allows concentrated work in your specialization. Collaborate with our distinguished faculty of accomplished musicians and scholars as you delve deeper into your major, honing the critical thinking and artistic abilities essential for professional success. Select your focus from classical/jazz performance, composition, musicology, popular music, or studio teaching. Musicology students may further specialize in music education research or ethnomusicology. You must have completed an undergraduate music degree at a recognised university (or similar institution) in the same discipline as the major you are applying for. You will require a GPE of 5.0 across the highest-level courses that are relevant to your intended major.
IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 and no bands below 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
