The Mechanical Engineering Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) covers core principles: engineering sciences, design instruction, and professional practice elements. Our program emphasizes design and collaborative projects, letting you transform classroom knowledge into tangible product development. Key study areas include: Dynamics and control: Using mathematical modeling to analyze, predict, and enhance dynamic systems - essential for advancing technologies like surgical robotics and self-driving vehicles. Engineering design: Solving practical challenges through modern methodologies, such as employing CAD software and finite element analysis for innovative projects.
Secondary school qualifications
You need to have one of the following:
International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum total score of 24.
General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. You must have completed a minimum of three A-Level subjects.
Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). You must have completed a minimum of three A-level subjects.
GCE ‘A’ Level requirements apply to ‘A’ Level qualifications examined by bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, CCEA and Pearson Education Limited taken outside of New Zealand.
IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.5 and no bands below 6.0; Internet-based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 90 and written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 68 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 176 and no bands below 169; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 58 and no PTE Communicative score below 50; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of B-; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 85.
