The Bachelor of Arts program offers the flexibility to pursue your passions across diverse academic disciplines. You'll have access to an extensive selection of study options designed to align with various interests and professional aspirations. Your BA education cultivates essential knowledge and transferable skills to prepare you for evolving career landscapes. Developing competencies like effective communication and innovative problem-solving will maintain your adaptability in today's dynamic job market. You can enhance your professional readiness through optional, thematic modules. Opting for a double major provides concentrated expertise while broadening your academic foundation, with the freedom to sample different subjects before finalizing your two specializations. Additionally, you can combine your BA with another degree through our conjoint program structure.
Earning a Bachelor of Arts with a Politics and International Relations specialization provides comprehensive understanding of key areas including: Global affairs, Political philosophy, Media and governance, Cross-national political systems, and Policy development. Many courses integrate multiple thematic elements. You can select Politics and International Relations as one of your two BA concentrations (double major). The program requires completion of at least 120 points (eight courses) per major, including a minimum of 45 points (three courses) at advanced Stage III level.
Secondary school qualifications:
You need to have one of the following:
International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum total score of 24.
General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. You must have completed a minimum of three A-Level subjects.
GCE ‘A’ Level requirements apply to ‘A’ Level qualifications examined by bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, CCEA and Pearson Education Limited taken outside of New Zealand.
IELTS (Academic): Overall score of 6.0 and no bands below 5.5; Internet based TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 80 and a written score of 21; Paper-based TOEFL: Overall score of 60 and a writing score of 21; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE), Cambridge English Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 169 and no bands below 162; Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP): Grade of C-; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: Overall score of 50 and no PTE Communicative score below 42; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB): 80.
