A BALLB(Hons) combined degree enables you to earn both a BA and LLB(Hons) more quickly and with fewer credit requirements than pursuing them individually. This program cultivates crucial abilities that prepare students to succeed in our rapidly evolving, interconnected world. Through legal education, you'll acquire versatile skills applicable to diverse professions, both within and beyond the legal field. Your law studies can be enriched by pairing them with various disciplines across humanities, social sciences, cultural studies, and languages. The BALLB(Hons) equips you with valuable competencies for multiple career paths, fostering legal expertise alongside social awareness and civic duty. Our alumni practice law throughout New Zealand and internationally, embracing emerging opportunities created by societal, technological, and commercial advancements.

The program offers various Māori Studies options aligned with your interests and professional aspirations. Course selections include Māori language, media representation, cultural artifacts, historical perspectives, political systems, and traditional performing arts (kapa haka). You may pursue Māori Studies as one of your two BA specializations (a dual major). Each major requires completing at least 120 points (eight courses), including a minimum of 45 points (three courses) at advanced Stage III level.
