This combined degree equips you with crucial abilities to navigate and succeed in our rapidly evolving, interconnected world. Law studies will provide you with versatile skills applicable to diverse career paths, both within and outside the legal field. You can enhance your legal education by exploring various disciplines in humanities, social sciences, cultural studies, and languages. Our alumni practice law across New Zealand and internationally while embracing emerging opportunities created by societal, technological, and business transformations.

Sociology encompasses four primary thematic areas. When pursuing a Bachelor of Arts with a Sociology major, you can explore these interconnected domains through courses aligned with your interests. Cultural sociology examines how cultural expressions influence and are influenced by societies, including visual culture and media representations. Applied sociology and social policy investigates governmental and community approaches to social challenges like healthcare and wellbeing. Power and resistance analyzes societal structures that govern human conduct and their ongoing challenges, particularly regarding sexuality, reproduction, and personal relationships. Comparative sociology adopts a global perspective, examining societies across regions, nations, and historical periods, covering topics from Pacific regional organizations to cross-cultural perspectives on mortality.
