As a creative thinker or maker, you'll explore cultural, social, environmental, ethical, and political themes while developing impactful ways to communicate these ideas. The Bachelor of Arts provides diverse subject options, allowing you to specialize in areas of society, culture, and human behavior that fascinate you. The Fine Arts component focuses on modern art, offering various media and practices like ceramics, photography, digital media, performance art, and more. Combining these disciplines strengthens your understanding of society while sharpening critical analysis and communication abilities. The dual-degree approach maximizes your potential and expands professional opportunities.
Pacific Studies enhances your understanding of Pacific cultures, identities, and lived experiences. The curriculum covers Pacific history, health studies, social anthropology, languages (including Samoan, Tongan, and Cook Islands Reo), Indigenous knowledge systems, performing arts, material culture, and film. You'll examine these subjects across different Pacific communities. Pacific Studies can be pursued as one of two BA majors (double major), requiring completion of at least 120 points (eight courses) per major, with a minimum of 45 points (three courses) at Stage III level.
