Every Engineering specialization is accredited by Engineering New Zealand, ensuring international recognition of this qualification.
First-year offerings include classes on classical mythology and ancient civilizations. Subsequent years feature advanced coursework examining warfare, religion, Egyptian linguistics, artistic expression, gender studies, political transformations, and daily life in antiquity. Opportunities abound to analyze literary forms such as epic poetry, drama, and romantic verse, investigate Egyptian art and spirituality from non-European viewpoints, explore Mediterranean archaeology, or encounter legendary personalities like Alexander the Great and Cleopatra. As part of a Classical Studies and Ancient History major, you may study Ancient Greek, Latin, or Hieroglyphics.
